Georges Yammine was born in Lebanon at the end of the seventies. He received his first violin lessons at the conservatory in Beirut and six years later, in 1999, he was honored a scholarship from the West Eastern Divan Orchestra founded by Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said to study in Germany at the 'Franz Liszt" Hochschule für Musik in Weimar.
Since 1999, during a multitude of worldwide tours with the West Eastern Divan Orchestra, he discovered photography to be a second way of expressing himself, which enabled him to capture musical connections visually and to experiment with movement and forms.
The pictorial book "Spark of Hope", which was published in 2014 by corso publisher in Germany, reflects this phase.
Georges Yammine is a member of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra since 2008 , he lives between Qatar, Lebanon and Germany and works internationally as a freelance photographer. His works have been shown in numerous international galleries such as Leica Galerie/Salzburg, Bernheimer Fine Art Gallery/Lucerne, Anima Gallery/Doha and collected by foundations such as Barenboim Said Foundation/Berlin and others.
